The Information and Broadcasting minister of India, Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi has been admitted to All India Institute of medical Sciences (AIIMS) after he suffered from severe cardiac attack on October 13, 2008. As per doctors, condition of the minister is critical. The spokesperson of AIIMS, Y K Gupta said that Dasmunsi has been admitted to hospital with sever breathlessness and lung congestion. The left ventricular of Dasmunshi's heart failed to function properly, added the doctor. According to doctors, although his vital organs are functioning normally, his condition is serious.
The Union minister has also suffered from similar heart attack during the no trust motion against the UPA government earlier this year. Dasmunsi is one of the prominent leaders of the Congress party and is supposed to play a key role in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. The ailment of the Information and Broadcasting minister is supposed to evoke deep concern among the party members. He has been admitted in Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of AIIMS and put on ventilator.
