President Pratibha Patil said that Delhi is "quite prepared" for hosting Commonwealth Games next year. She has also mentioned that anyone can participate in the mega sporting event.
 
"No. Delhi is quite prepared and they can come, they are most welcome and Delhi is very, very ready to welcome all those people who want to come here. No problem," said Patil in an interview. She was answering when asked about the concerns regarding Delhi's preparation levels for the Games.
 
Patil is on a two nation visit to the UK and Cyprus during which the Commonwealth baton will be given to her by Queen Elizabeth.
 
The visit to Britain is the first time by an Indian President in the past two decades. She will be calling on the Prime Minister of Britain, Gordon Brown as well as Leader of Opposition David Cameroon.
 
Patil has mentioned that this visit is aimed at giving a boost to the India – UK bilateral relationship.
