Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has mentioned that he wished to retire from his political career in 2014, when the current tenures of UPA will end.
 
"When this tenure will be over, I will be 79. Perhaps that is the time for having a little bit of rest", replied The FM when asked if he wishes to be a part of Rashtrapati Bhawan someday.
 
FM, who is the senior member of the current UPA cabinet, "I will go to my study where I have collected some large number of books which I did not have the time to read".
 
Mukherjee was elected to Rajya Sabha first in July 1969 and it was not until 2004 that he entered Lok Sabha from Jangipur constituency in West Bengal.
