Guess what gift the External Affairs Minister of India, Pranab Mukherjee must have presented the Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani during his recent visit to the country? The correct answer is a box full of film DVDs of Indian actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It sure turned out to be a surprising gift for 55 year-old Yousuf Raza Gilani who happens to be an ardent fan of India’s Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
The Pakistani PM commented that the aides of the Indian external affairs minister must have found out about his favorite heroine through his book, Chah-e-Yousuf Say Sada. In it, the PM says he has mentioned that he used to watch movies of Aishwarya on his laptop when he was put in prison from 2001 to 2006 by the regime of Pervez Musharraf. All these transpired when the External Affairs Minister of India was in Pakistan recently on 20-21 May to engage in composite dialogue with his counterpart, Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
