Prakash Amritraj advanced into the quarterfinal of US ATP Challenger. He defeated his third seed opponent Jesse Levine in the USD 50,000 event played in Calabasas in United States. The Indian on the other hand could not make it in the doubles event with a last eight round defeat.
Prakash who got a wild card entry in the singles had made it into the next round as his first round rival Llija Bozoljac had retired midway due to back problem.
Prakash will play against American Mlchae Yani in the singles quarterfinals. The American had established a 7-6(6) 6-7(4) 7-6(5) win over fellow American and wild card Bradley Klahn in the second round encounter.
The fourth seed pair of Prakash and Alex Kuznetsov lost by 2-6, 3-6 to South African pair of Raven Klaasen and Izak van der Merwe in the doubles event.
