India’s Prakash Amritraj advanced to the next round of $50,000 Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) challenger tournament. He defeated American Ryler Deheart by 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-3 on Tuesday.
India’s eight seed Somdev Devvarman on the other hand went down fighting .He
lost to Ukrainian Sergei Bubka by 6-7 (3), 5-7.
Prakash will now challenge Bubka in the next round.
In the doubles, India's Harsh Mankad with American David Martin advanced to the second round .They defeated Laurynas Grigelis of Lithuania and Italian Andrea Stoppini by 3-6, 6-3, 10-6.
