Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav said that Nepalese PM Prachanda will visit India in September, before UN General Assembly meeting in New York. Yadav said that Prachanda is very eager to come to India. He informed that request has already been made to Indian Government to fix dates for the same purpose. However, he said that it would be better if he comes to India before the UN General Assembly meeting to be held in the third week of September.

Commenting on the issue of Kosi floods and alleged negligence from Nepal side to repair embankments, Nepalese Foreign Minister said that a blame game will not solve anything. He admitted that the lack of timely repair of embankments was one of the reasons of floods; there was no repairing for seven years of these embankments. He appealed for working in the spirit of cooperation and friendship.

Giving clues about Nepalese foreign policy, Yadav said that Nepal will maintain equidistance in its relations with India and China. Becoming more precise he said that equidistance means equal relations, and Nepal's relations with India are not against China, and likewise, Nepal's relations with China are not against India. However, he stressed that Nepal's historical, cultural and fraternal ties with India are such that they cannot be compared to those with any other country.
