The Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh arrived in terror Mumbai on Thursday (November 27) night to assess the situation of the city. He is reported to have visited the JJ Hospital to meet the injured people of the Wednesday night terror attack. The financial capital of India, Mumbai was jolted when gunmen armed with automatic weapons and grenades burst into luxury hotels and other landmark buildings killing about 110 people. The PM was supposed to visit Mumbai during the day, but the state government requested him to postpone his trip till all the operations are over.

Meanwhile, another report suspects that Manmohan Singh was the target of the terrorists as he was supposed to visit Mumbai during the weekend. The security agencies claimed that the terrorists had originally planned the attack for the weekend during PM's Mumbai tour. But they have advanced their plan after the reported arrest of Raheel Sheikh, the mastermind of July 2006 Mumbai blasts, in London on Tuesday. Although the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) denied any such arrest, but the crime branch of Mumbai police confirmed that Sheikh has been traced and could be arrested anytime.

The police said that it can not dismiss the possible connection of the Mumbai terror attacks and the likely arrest of Raheel Sheikh. The source informed that interrogations are going on and the truth is supposed to come out soon. It is worth mentioning that Mumbai terror attack came within months of the Assam serial bomb blasts which killed about 61 people besides injuring over 200.
