Pinky Jangra stormed into the final of the senior women's National Boxing Championship. She defeated Hemani Mehta by 18-6 in the semi-final match in the 46 kgs light fly weight category.
Pinky Jangra from Haryana had stunned four-time world champion M C Mary Kom in the quarterfinals. She dominated the game from the first round and claimed the four-round bout with ease against her Uttrakhand opponent.
Jangra will meet Krishna Thapa from MP in the finals. Thapa had defeated Sanashiri Brahma of Assam by 18-2 in the other semi-final match.
Vanlaln Duati of Tripura will play against Mamta of Haryana in the finals of 48 kg category. Duati had outclassed Mandakini Channu of AIPB by 18-1 in the semi-final.
Railway women Sunita Yadav and Dorothy Lal of Mizoram will fight in the 57 kgs light weight category. Yadav had defeated Reena Kaushik of Chandigarh by 5-0 while Dorothy had a 9-7 win over H Chaoba Devi of Manipur.
