Mexican Football Federation said that, Pink footballs would be used in the next football championship in October as a campaign to stop breast cancer.
The football championship will start from Oct 2 - Nov 1, involving 36 matches.
Mexican Health Minister Jose Angel Cordova informed, "Across the world, in 2007, there were 548,000 deaths (from) breast cancer, and in Mexico there were 4,581 deaths that year, so early detection is required."
The matches will be visited by the health officials from the health ministry and they will provide kits and demonstrations on the early detection and prevention of breast diseases.
The health department aims to create a public awareness through this unique campaign.
At the same time, the Mexican football federation will sell about 30,000 pink footballs, from which, 10 percent of the profits will be kept aside for a fund to fight against breast cancer.
