A Philippine air force C-130 transport plane is reported to have gone missing in the south of the country on Monday, August 25. Air force chief Lt. Gen. Pedrito Cadungog stated the next day it had two pilots and seven crew members onboard and that the plane had probably crashed.

He further informed that the Philippine air force C-130 transport plane took off from the Davao airport in south on Monday evening. It was only 10 minutes later the radio contact with the plane got lost. He said, 'We received reports from the field that two pairs of combat boots, documents and aircraft debris were found by fishermen at Davao Gulf off Davao City.'

Cadungog also said that an inspection was going on to ensure that the debris found was of the same missing plane. Other sources informed that a big search team comprising helicopters and light aircraft had been put into action within a radius of 30 km from the Davao airport.
