At least 10 people were killed and over 60 injured on Wednesday afternoon when a massive blast tore through a bustling market in the Pakistani city of Peshawar.
The explosion took place in Peepal Mandi in the old city of Peshawar, which is the capital of the restive North West Frontier Province (NWFP).
Ten people were killed and 62 injured in the blast, DPA reported.
Huge clouds of smoke rose from the area and several shops were reduced to rubble with their roofs blown off in the latest terror strike that comes just five days after a bombing outside a restaurant in the city.
Panic-stricken shopkeepers came to the rescue of the injured, who were rushed to hospital. They joined security personnel in digging through the debris in the search for survivors.
The terror attack took place soon after US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton began a three-day visit to Pakistan Wednesday morning.
Pakistan has been witnessing a string of terror attacks, even as the army continues to assault against the Taliban in South Waziristan.
