‘Peepli Live’ Gets 95% Occupancy In Cinema Halls

‘Peepli Live’ strikes gold at the box office and finally it is able to win the hearts of the audiences. It has received great reviews and witnessed occupancy of almost 95% in the cinema halls.

Anusha Rizvi’s directed movie was released across 600 screens in India and more than 100 screens abroad, on its first day, it is able to attract almost full cinema occupancy .The actor and the team are taken by a pleasant surprise and they can see that their efforts are finally paid off.

The movie is doing a business of 70 million presently and the amount will keep on increasing in the coming days. However, even before the movie got released it recovered its amount of investment by selling its satellite premier rights to Color channel for 100 million and music rights to T-series for 40 million.

Sources add, “Peepli Live has opened extremely well. What is surprising is the reaction from single screens - it opened to almost 90 to 95 percent in single screens. As a non-star cast film with A-certificate, trade expected the film to do modest business. However, the film has done bigger business than small films by three times.”

This kind of release is the best till now for a small budgeted with no-star cast movie, apart from Naseeruddin Shah, there are only local theatre artist in the movie with Omkardas Manikpuri (Natha) being the main character.
