Pakistani pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar is finally getting one good news after another. After being allowed to play in the Indian Premier League, the pace bowler has been freed from the Rs 220 million defamation suit by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Tafazzul Rizvi, PCB lawyer has remarked that the board decided to drop the suit against Shoaib after he apologized to PCB Chairman Nasim Ashraf during a meeting organized by the PM adviser on interior affairs, Rehman Malik.
The lawsuit was filed by the PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf after Shoaib had remarked that the former had demanded money from him for allowing him to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The fateful meeting for the pace bowler took place at the Pakistan People’s Party Rehman Malik’s residence on Sunday night. Mr. Tafazzul Rizvi after the meeting remarked that Shoaib has in person apologized to Mr. Ashraf and agreed that he had leveled baseless and false allegations against the PCB chairman.
