The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has conducted dope tests on 20 cricketers at its training camp in Karachi in order to prevent doping scandals from maligning the Asia Cup cricket tournament scheduled to begin from June 24 onwards. A PCB official informed that the tests were done as per the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) guidelines and that its samples will be forwarded to a Malaysia laboratory approved by the International Olympic Committee.

The PCB source then added that the results of the test will be available in the coming two-three days. It is heard that even the Asian Cricket Council is deliberating upon the conduction of a dope test randomly on any two players in each match during the impending tournament. The governing body of the PCB asked the Board to fix the WADA anti-doping policy at the domestic level and thereby make the cricketers aware of the hazards of using prohibited drugs.
