The Pakistan Cricket Board on Monday rejected Younis' resignation and appointed him as captain till 2011 World Cup.
Younus Khan was delighted after he was re-assigned the job as the skipper of Pakistan cricket team but said that the overwhelming support he got is bound to put more pressure on him to perform as a leader.
Younis had resigned as Pakistan captain last week following match-fixing accusations made against him and his team for losing to Australia and New Zealand in the Champions Trophy.
Younus reacting to PCB`s decision said,"Obviously I am very happy and delighted that the Board has shown so much confidence in me and given me respect. The amount of support I have got from the people and media is amazing. It just adds that much more pressure on me to do better as captain."
Younus said that it was an honour for him to lead the Pakistan’s team. The skipper said, “Since being made captain this year I have given my best for my country. But now I will have work harder and deliver more results than the last eight months as captain.”
