Patiala House Review- Patiala House Movie Review
Patiala House
Patiala House
Directed by: Nikhil Advani
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Armaan Kirmani.

Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar has made a smooth return into viewer’s heart with his newly released Patiala House. Kumar who terribly failed to bank profit at the box office with his last releases like De Dhana Dhan, Khatta Meetha, Action Replayy, and Tees Maar Khan seems to have made the right choice by opting for Nikhil Advani’s project.

The movie is looking promising as it has some light and heavy emotions to share eventually making it a complete emotional family drama.

Patiala House is a story about a talented chap Gattu (Akshay Kumar) who is passionate about cricket but his father (Rishi Kapoor) who hates firangs cannot stand the fact that his son will play in England cricket team.  The reason behind his this psychotic is that he is the victim of racist attack in England and even faced jailed for attacking goras. Since then the family has been subdued and none of them dares to utter a word in front of Bauji. Akshay being the eldest of all siblings is forced to take the initiative but he gives up his dreams to respect his father.

And then a sweet turn comes in the movie in the face of Simran (Anushka Sharma), who encourages the family to pursue its dreams.

In all, the entire movie shows lots of ups and downs in each character’s life and most importantly everyone has done justice to it. Advani’s effort are worth mentioning while Akshay has also poured his heart out in the flick and is looking good as a cricketer.  Anushka has nothing new to do in the movie and often displays her Shruti Kakkar style of Band Baaja Baaraat. The eternal beauty Dimple Kapadia has played the complex role of a mother and a wife with ease. Rapper Hard Kaur who is playing Kumar’s cousin in the flick is entertaining but fails to leave any impact on viewer’s mind.

Talking about the scores of the movie, Laungda Lashkara is a must watch and other songs are also good all thanks to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

Well, it will be a treat for Akki’s fans as after a long time they would get the chance to see the inspiring performance of the actor. In short, good movie and one time watch.
