The protest against the Chinese crackdown on Tibetans can be heard in the French capital ‘Paris’ as well, from where the Olympic torch relay is scheduled to pass on 7th April 2008. A huge banner supporting human rights will be hung draping the Paris City Hall, when the Olympic torch relay passes by. This announcement was made by the Paris Mayor, Bertrand Delanoe as soon as the route of the torch relay beginning from the Eiffel Tower was decided.
The Paris Mayor explained that the banner will be hung because Paris defends human rights all over the globe. The Olympic torch carriers will don a badge as a prominent sign in support of free expression, but they will not utter a word about what is written on it. Furthermore, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) have said that they too will protest over the onslaught on the Tibetan by the Chinese.
