Parents are the most important individuals in the life of a child. They ceaselessly play multi-dimensional roles such as that of a teacher, well-wisher, mentor, role-model, protector and so on just to ensure that their child gets a good life and grows up into a mature, responsible citizen. It is not really possible to repay them (parents) for their unconditional love and hard work. But one nevertheless makes an attempt to do so by celebrating The Parents’ Day every year.

It is a day when children of all ages, all over the world pause to reflect on the boundless love they have always been showered upon and celebrate this unique relationship. An interesting point to notice about The Parents’ Day is that not all countries choose to celebrate it on the very same day. For instance, Korea celebrates The Parents’ Day on May 8 every year, whereas Vietnam celebrates it on July 7. A majority of the countries across the globe, however, celebrate this special occasion with the United States on the fourth Sunday of July every year.  

Markets get flooded with gifts and presents for The Parents’ Day around this time of the year. Children usually prefer buying presents from the market for their parents, which could range from silk scarves, to brooches, music system, watches and so on. Some even prefer to make special Parents Day gifts with their own hands and this could be a sweater or simply a nice cozy surprise dinner. Remember, it is the sentiment which counts more than the money invested on buying the gift. Perhaps none can understand this better than parents.
