The much-awaited Palm Pre handset is expected to hit US market on June 6 this year. The new smartphone will carry a price tag of $199.99 with a two-year service agreement after a $100 mail-in rebate. The Palm Pre handset generated huge interest among people when it was first introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2009.
One of the unique features of this smartphone is that it can easily recognize the owners when they connect to social or e-mail services. The unique smartphone allows its users to have several applications running at the same time. The phone also features innovative interface based around its touch screen with a gesture area below the display.
Palm Pre will use Sprint's 3G network and it expected to give head-to-head competition to other smartphones such as Apple's iPhone, Android handsets and RIM's Blackberry. All the accessories for Palm Pre including the Touchstone Charging Kit will be available on the same day for another $69.99. In addition to Sprint stores, the Palm Pre will be available at Best Buy, Radio Shack and select Walmart stores. One can also buy the smartphone online.
