Palermo sacked coach Walter Zenga on Monday. The former Italy and Inter Milan goalkeeper was dismissed from his post after the team had a 1-1 draw to Sicilian rivals Catania.
Zenga is the latest in a string of coaches to be axed by Palermo president Maurizio Zamperini.A club website statement said,"Palermo announce that Walter Zenga has been relieved of his duties as first team coach.”
Zenga had made a decent start to the season with mid-table Palermo. His good performance had created buzz that he could grab Inter coach Jose Mourinho position in future.
Delio Rossi, who left Lazio at the end of last season, is being speculated as the replacement of Zenga.
