Pakistani PM YR Gilani wants US to give it civil nuclear deal similar to India’s. Addressing the leaders gathered in the summit of Council on ‘Foreign Relations and the Middle East Institute’ he said that like civilian nuclear status to India, Pakistan would also expect the same from USA.

 

He added that there should be no preference, and no discrimination of treatment of states by US on civil nuclear deals. The deliberation has come before the crucial meeting of IAEA on Friday, and it seems to spoiling the chances of India to convince NSG that nuke deal will not increase arms race in the region.

 

It is to be noted that USA already has denied of any nuke deal with Pakistan, and in fact it is worried about the nuke weapon’s security in Pakistan from terrorists. These and similar requests from Pakistan have been made time in and time out, however, US does not seem to show any interest on it.
