Media reports claim that a missile strike, which is suspected to be belonging to the US, has claimed the lives of 14 people after it hit the north western region bordering Afghanistan on Saturday.
The attack targeted a Taliban hideout in the Bajaur tribal district, where the Pakistani military claimed victory over the militants early this year after months of fighting.
Private Duniya News television channel said 14 people were killed in the assault. Three foreign militants were among the dead. The Pakistani officials have criticized this attack claiming that the US is trying to hamper the sovereignty of the nation and is spreading anti-American sentiments.
Some US aerial raids have successfully taken out high-profile Taliban and Al Qaeda figures.
In early August, a similar assault in South Waziristan, another tribal district on the Afghan border, killed Pakistan Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud.
