Pakistan faced a strong retaliation from India after it raised the issues of Kashmir in the UN Meeting. India had protested this behaviour of Pakistan saying that Jammu and Kashmir is a vital part of India.

Pakistan's envoy to the UN, Amjad Hussain, in his claim stated that the people residing in Jammu and Kashmir have been denied the "right to exercise and the right of self-determination".

Hussain, who was addressing the UN panel on Humanitarian issues, cited that Pakistan is ready for holding Composite Dialogue with India. He also mentioned that Pakistan is willing for solving the issues with India peacefully so that peace, stability and progress will prevail in South Asia.

This statement of Hussain has created much displeasure for India and Congress MP B K Hariprasad has voiced his displeasure against this issue.

"We regret the unacceptable reference made by the delegation of Pakistan to the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir," he said.

"I would like to reiterate that the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the Union of India and its people regularly participate in free, fair and open elections," he said.
