Pakistan has offered five million dollars as reward for anyone who captures the Taliban warlord of Pakistan Hakimullah Mehsud and his 18 lieutenants, dead or alive. The award was published in The News daily as well as flashed on Pakistani television channels on Sunday night.
50 million Pakistan rupees has been offered for Hakimullah Mehsud. He had been heading Pakistani Taliban after a US drone attack had claimed the life of Baitullah Mehsud in August.
TTP has been blamed for some of the worst attacks in Pakistan, which have killed around 2,400 people in a deadly wave of carnage over the past two years.
"Anyone who captures these people dead or alive or provides concrete information, the government will award them a cash reward," the advert said.
"The activities of these brutal people, who have no fear of God, are bringing a bad name -- not only to the Mehsud tribe but all tribesmen... and also give a bad name to Pakistan in the whole world," it said.
"These people certainly need just punishment. They are the killers of humanity. Help the government of Pakistan to annihilate them."
Eleven other commanders had rewards of 20 million rupees and the government posted rewards of 10 million rupees each for five lesser-ranking militants. The advertisement has asked the informants to contact the local administration got providing news. The ad also pledges to provide complete anonymity as well as security for the information.
