According to Pakistani Senator Mushahid Hussain, in Pakistan, "there is a viewpoint not only in the establishment and the government but also in media circles and among the public that Indian elements in Afghanistan are promoting and supporting terrorism to destabilise our country”.
Hussai, while making statements which reflect the blames put forward by Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik on India has mentioned that “India is following the Chanakya principle that the enemy of my enemy is my friend". Malik had blamed India for providing funds to Taliban militants located along Afghanistan border for creating unrest in Pakistan.
Hussai, the chairman of the Pakistani senate's Foreign Relation Committee, was addressing the media on the margins of the seminar organized by Jama Masjid United Forum, titled, Terrorism - National and International.
