India’s Leander Paes along with his Czech partner Lukas Dlouhy clinched a remarkable straight sets victory over the Israeli pair of Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich to enter the semi-final round of the men’s doubles at the ongoing Wimbledon championships on Tuesday, July 1.

It took the ninth seeded pair of Paes and Dlouhy one hour and 46 minutes to overthrow the third seeds duo of Ram and Erlich 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 in the quarter-final round. It is the conversion of breakpoints that brought about all the difference between the two teams with the Indo-Czech pair managing to convert four out of the six that came their way.

Rival team of Ram and Erlich, on the other hand, wasted away all their eight points. In the next round, the Indo-Czech pair of Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy will face winners of the other quarter-final match held between duo Kevin Anderson of South Africa and Swede Robert Lindstedt opposite second seed Canadian-Serbian duo of Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic.
