Top leaders across the world Friday defended Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Changes (IPCC) and confirmed that the mistakes found in its report cannot change the truth about global warming.
IPCC report on global warming increase in sea levels had been widely acknowledged at Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS) by the prime ministers of Norway, Greece, Finland and Bhutan. R.K. Pachauri is the co-chair UN climate change panel
Jens Stoltenberg, Norwegian Prime Minister said, "Some of the recommendations have been subject to criticism. In principle I welcome criticism. I congratulate R.K. Pachauri for taking steps to correct mistakes", "But the main point of climate panel's report remains unchanged. Polar ice is melting. Sea levels are rising and the globe is warming."
Regarding this matter Matti Vanhanen, Finish Prime Minister also said that the world should take a step together so that global warming can be stopped and the world should enter into a legal pact to stop green house gas emanations.
Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister also supported IPCC in spite of its wrong predictions that Himalayan glaciers will melt away within 2035 due to global warming. Jairam Ramesh, Environment Minister had also backed Pachauri.
