Dibakar Banerjee's 'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!' has been chosen for screening at an event in New York. The event called The New India will kick-off today (June 5). The screenings of all the films will take place at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). When contacted, Dibakar Banerjee said that he felt very happy after hearing the news. According to him, it is a great honour to get selected for screening in MoMA which is one of the top four art and culture museums in the world.
The event that celebrates Indian films also screened 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' in 2007. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, 'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!' revolves around a lucky thief named Lucky (Abhay Deol) who enters Delhi's well-to-do homes and steals away everything without being caught. Apart from Abhay Deol, the film also has other actors like Neetu Chandra, Paresh Rawal, Manu Rishi, Richa Chadda, Manjot Singh and Archana Puran Singh. Manu Rishi has also written the dialogues of the film.
Director Dibakar Banerjee said that initially he was unaware that his film was selected for New York event. He was informed by Abhay Deol on phone. Banerjee feels that it is nice to get screened along with other good works. The film will be screened on June 8 as well as on June 13. Apart from 'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!', Zoya Akhtar's 'Luck By Chance', Neeraj Pandey's 'A Wednesday 'and Nandita Das's 'Firaaq' will be screened at the New York event.
