The 85,000 mile Olympic torch relay from Ancient Olympia in Greece to Beijing, host of the 2008 Summer Olympics will go down in history not just as the longest one, but also as one that was marked by anti-China protests all over. The anti-China protest currently seems to be on in full swing in London, one of the destinations for the Olympic torch relay.

The London police had to scuffle with protesters as Olympians and celebrities carried the Olympic torch through a chaotic relay on Sunday, 6th April. The anti-China protestors even tried boarding a relay bus as five-time Olympic gold medalist rower, Steve Redgrave initiated the 31-mile procession at Wembley Stadium. Consequently, three people got arrested.

Another protester tried grabbing the Olympic torch in west London, causing the police to temporarily halt the procession. Yet another demonstrator tried extinguishing the torch flame with what looked like a fire extinguisher. Just a few miles down the Olympic torch relay route, Chinese supporters of the Olympics waved huge flags. Concurrently, about a dozen protesters ranted out slogans of ‘Free Tibet’ nearby.
