A new USB extension is out, and true to its namesake, it offers users with many USB ports. Welcome the Octopus USB hub, which lets users connect up to four USB devices at a time.

Unlike a real octopus, it has only five arms, one to connect to the computer and four extensions. Each arm is of course representative of the tentacles of the octopus.

Although it may look more like a collector’s item than something that can be put to practical use, it is actually a very pragmatic addition to the cluttered desktop environment as it occupies far little space. What makes this possible is the small spherical head of the octopus. Most other USB extensions house large boxes into which the USB devices are plugged.

The arms of the octopus are sufficiently long enough to keep it at a comfortable distance away from the computer.

The Octopus hub is available in four colours: black, white, yellow and purple. The device is also inexpensive at USD $ 10 or a little less than Rs. 500.
