The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is expected to launch its homegrown satellite Oceansat-2 into earth's orbit by July-August this year. While making the announcement at the sidelines of a national seminar, ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair said that Oceansat-2 will help the space research agency to study the sea surface, wind and also track down the fishing zones. He informed that ISRO is considering to launch the satellite from the launch pad in Sriharikota.
 
The indigenously built satellite will carry three sensors with it. The three sensors are Ocean Colour Monitor, Ku-Band Pencil Beam Scatterometer and Radio Occultation Sounder. Oceansat-2 will be launched through ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. G Madhavan Nair was attending the seminar on 'Aerospace Expanding Frontiers-Technologies and Challenges' at Thiruvananthapuram.
 
Addressing the seminar ISRO chief stated that India has achieved tremendous success in space programmes, which shows its advancements in all areas of space technologies. After the seminar, Nair spoke about the country's first moon-mission. According to him, Chandrayaan-I has completed its mission and stood out to be a great success. 

Informing more about India's moon mission, Nair stated that Chandrayaan-I has mapped the entire lunar surface and the data collected have been provided to scientific community for analyzing. He informed that Chandrayaan-I has found no trace of water on lunar surface. However, traces of magnesium and calcium have been found, added Nair.
