Barack Obama, the US Democratic presidential candidate, has chosen veteran Delaware Senator Joseph Biden as his Vice -Presidential candidate in the race for the White House. The new teammates are likely to make their first public appearance together at a rally planned at the Old State Capitol in Springfield, the same place where Obama had launched his White House bid last year.
Biden, 65, is the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and has served in the Senate since 1972. It is assumed that Biden would bring considerable foreign policy expertise to the ticket at a time when Republicans are increasingly focusing on Obama's lack of experience in that arena.
