The prestigious Obaidullah Khan Gold Cup Hockey Tournament will begin on October 2.It will be played at Aishbag stadium in Bhopal after a long gap.
The tournament will see participation of several local as well as national teams. The official sources said that the league round for local teams will be organised from October 2-9, while national teams will take part in the tournament from October 10 onwards.
According to official sources the final match will be held on October 25.
The preparations for the tournament was reviewed by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday .The review meeting was attended by Bhopal Hockey Federation President, its Vice-Presidents Om Yadav and Deepchand Yadav, its Secretary Ikram-ur-Rahman and International Hockey Empire, Shakeel Qureshi .
The chief minister wanted the preparations of the tournament to be in accordance with its glorious tradition.
