Famous football player and actor OJ Simpson (OJS) has been found guilty of kidnapping and robbery by a jury in Las Vegas. The jury sentenced him for 15 years imprisonment. He was convicted of the offences in October 3 this year and the quantum of sentence had to be decided on 5th December. He along with his codefendant Michael McClinton had robbed the Palace Station Hotel in Las Vegas.

 

The presiding judge Jackie Glass said that during the trial and throughout this proceeding OJ Simpson was arrogant and ignorant. Probably, OJS had expected the obvious end of the judgment; he was full of tears even before the judge pronounced the verdict. Later, the 1947 born soccer legend apologized for the robbery in September 2007 at the Palace Station Hotel.

 

In his apologetic voice he said that he is sorry and somewhat confused and feels sorry to people of state of Nevada as well. However, it is not the first criminal case against OJS; he was tried for the murder of his wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ronald Goldman. But, he successfully managed the trial and was acquitted unanimously by the jury findings of a civil court case in February 1997.
