Chhattisgarh government has reviewed the salaries of its state government employees to adhere to the standards of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. It has also given one week deadline for the clearing of discrepancies.
D.S. Mishra, principal secretary, while addressing the chief executive officers (CEOs) of district panchayats, has ordered them to make the payments adhering to the NRES standards within 15 days.
Government officials say instructions for clearing workers' dues were issued in wake of reports from interiors of the state that workers had not be paid for months.
Mishra asked the collectors and CEOs to take to task officials of the NREGS implementing agencies if they failed to pay the wages within 15 days.
