According to sources, Facebook will soon allow its users for purchasing virtual products including music from its Website. This step has been adopted by Facebbok to improve its revenues.
Google has also plans for allow its users to sample and purchase songs from its search results page directly. This step has been adopted by Google to regain its lost market share from Bing.
Facebook has cited that users can choose the virtual gifts from a range of official sports icons as well as songs. The US users have to pay US$0.10for gifting a song, which cannot be downloaded, but can be heard online. For downloading the songs, one needs to pay $0.90.
The service, offered from music streaming site Lala.com, will be available by the end of this week.
Google will provide music streaming from Lala and MySpace-owned iLike.com. A user can stream a song free once whereas he has to pay $1 for downloading it.
