Fourth seed Novak Djokovic will face top seed Roger Federer in the semi-finals of US Open. Novak Djokovic made it into the semi finals after he took over Fernando Verdasco of Spain by 7-6 (7-2), 1-6, 7-5 and 6-2.
 
The Serb will play against World No. 1 Roger Federer for enter the clash for the US Open title.
 
Djokovic said, “Mentally it was important for me to overcome today's challenge and get into the semi-finals (of a Grand Slam tournament) for the first time in 2009 so I feel a kind of relief.”
 
"It wasn't a great first set, we both made a lot of unforced errors and I was lucky to get through in the tie-break.”
 
"In the second set I wasn't able to find any rhythm and he deserved to win it, but I managed to come back and that's what matters."
 
The match began with both men comfortably holding on to serve until the 10th game. Djokovic had set up two break points for the Spaniard with some unforced errors.
 
Two big serves from the Serb made him level the game at 5-5. He, then, managed a one set to love lead in the ensuing tie-break.
 
Djokovic finally pulled the game in his favour making it through to the semi-finals for the third straight year.
