Fourth seed Novak Djokovic reserved his place in US Open quarters with his win over Radek Stepanek on Monday. He defeated 15th seed Radek Stepanek of Czechoslovakia in straight sets by 6-1, 6-3, 6-3.
 
The Serb, who has been a runner-up at Flushing Meadows in 2007, registered his triumph in a match that lasted for one hour and 46 minutes .He will face 10th seed Fernando Verdasco of Spain in his quarter final encounter.
 
Djokovic took just 23 minutes to win the first set before easing through the second.
 
The Czech fought hard in the third set but a brilliant lob gave Djokovic the break in the sixth game. Djokovic made it into the last eight for the third straight year.
