Novak Djokovic advanced into the second round of the World Indoor Tournament as Sergiy Stakhovsky pulled out due to knee injury while trailing 6-2, 4-1.The Serb clinched the first set in just 32 minutes with two service breaks.
Djokovic was playing his first match after his suffered defeat at the hands of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the Australian Open quarters last month. The world number two Djokovic next plays Swiss Marco Chiudinelli in his second round encounter. Chiudinelli had defeated 2008 champion Michael Llodra of France by 6-1, 6-7, 7-6 in his first round.
Djokovic said ,"You always wish for an easy first round match because it is a bit tricky as you have to get used to the surface, light and surroundings.”Julien Benneteau of France also advanced into the next round with a straight set win by 6-3, 6-3 over seventh-seeded Croatian Ivan Ljubicic.
