Scientists have gone confused over the appearance of a huge spiral UFO over the Norway sky on Wednesday morning. The huge spiral of light is expected to be an astral phenomenon.
The incident happened early in the morning as thousands of stunned spectators thronged to the site to experience the light show, which spread the sky for hundreds of miles. The national Meteorological Institute was also flooded with questions.
The so called astral phenomenon ‘Star-Gate’ is being called as meteor fireball or black hole. Even, the people think it as an alien activity, where UFOs were believed to roam the earth some years ago.
Witnesses describe it as a spinning light, which centred around a bright moon-like star. It was also anchored by a blue streaming tail. The spiral UFO like spectacle lasted for two minutes bewildering over five million people throughout Scandinavia.
A spectator said, "I was driving my daughter to school when this light spun and exploded in the sky."
"We saw it from the Inner Harbour in Tromso. It looked like a rocket that spun around and around - and then went diagonally across the heavens. It looked like the moon was coming over the mountain - but then turned into something totally different,” he also said.
"People just stopped and stared on the pier - it was like something from a Hollywood movie," he added.
Celebrated astronomer, Knut Jorgen Roed Odegaard has said that he had never experienced such an astral phenomenon.
"This was seen over an exceptionally large area of the country - in all of north Norway and the Trondelag," he said. He added, "My first thought was that it was a fireball meteor - but it lasted far too long. It may have been a missile from Russia - but I can’t guarantee that is the answer."
"This spiral shape is unique. It is definitely not a variation of the aurora borealis - northern lights," he stated.
