Hurricane Norbert has turned into more dangerous category 4 storm and is heading towards Mexico's Pacific coast. According to the US National Hurricane Centre Norbert will turn toward the northeast in the next two days. The agency has forecast that Norbert will move towards Baja peninsula and Mexican mainland.
Officials have started making preparations to meet emergency and any damage by hurricane. Reports say that the storm had maximum sustained winds near 215 kph. The hurricane is moving west-northwest at near 15 kph. Accordingly, hurricane Norbert is expected to reach a relatively unpopulated stretch of coast well north of Cabo San Lucas in few days.
However, locals like Elizabeth Guillien, manager of Hotel Conquistador in Ciudad Constitucion, said that everything is very calm right now, and only a sporadic shower or two has been there. Factually, Norbert is the seventh hurricane of the east Pacific season. Hurricane Center has warned that Norbert could cause mudslides.
