All eyes will be on Nokia Corporation on October 2, 2008 as it unveils its much-awaited touchscreen phone Tube. The launch, one hears, will take place amidst a music centric event. The idea behind introducing the Tube is to give competition to the popular Apple Inc iPhone, as have many other phone companies in the recent past registering unsatisfactory, varying degrees of success.
The Nokia Company, therefore, is last of the many phone companies to launch a touchscreen product. Nokia hopes to incorporate its Comes With Music service in the Tube. Carolina Milanesi, an analyst at Gartner Inc, commented, 'Nokia is under enormous pressure to deliver something that's good. People have been waiting for this for over a year now.'
As per the NPD Group, Nokia's idea behind proffering the Comes With Music service is to rival the iTunes software of Apple, which is the number one retailer of music. The spokesperson from Nokia Company, however, was not immediately available for comments. There are already a number of touchscreen phones in the market and so Nokia Tube, analysts say, better be good.
