Nokia, world’s largest cell-phone manufacturer, has disclosed that the latest version of its Nokia N97, Nokia Mini will hit the Indian markets by Diwali or mid-October.
Two music devices as well as Nokia N97 Mini were released by the company at the Nokia World event.
"Though the music devices will be available in India by Q4 (2009-10), we plan to bring the N97 Mini by October in the Indian market," Nokia India Managing Director D Shivakumar said.
Even though there are reports citing that the high-end phones of Nokia are not performing well, Shivkumar has revealed that the company is showcasing performance at a level which is beyond the expectation in the smart-phone segment.
Nokia has been maintaining a market share of about 40 per cent world wide and is a leader in the Indian market with handsets in low to high range in the market.
Nokia N97 comes at a cost of Rs. 31,000 and comes with a tilting 3.2" touch display, QWERTY keyboard and fully customisable home screen.
Though N97 Mini has less in-built memory than its big brother, but the selling point of the new version is Lifecasting. People who own the N97 min can access Facebook and update their location and status or Lifecast, the term which is given for the service by Nokia.
