Nokia has announced the closure of its gaming service, N-Gage next year. This has been disclosed after the appearance of major problems in its handsets. N-Gage was launched last year with an aim to capture a niche audience.

Nokia is looking for new revenue streams from various online sources as the traditional mobile sales are seeing a maturity. Instead, the cell maker is concentrating on the development of the games and music to woo the young customers.

A Nokia spokesperson said in a statement, "We will no longer publish new games for the N-Gage platform."

Nokia has said that the games can be purchased from its major services until the end of September 2010. However, it will continue to sell the other mobile games at its Ovi Stores.

Unlike Apple's App store, Nokia is also trying to accelerate its business using its Ovi stores.
