Nokia, the Finnish mobile phone giant, on Wednesday 4 June introduced the N78 in the market which is a GPS enabled cell phone priced below Rs 20,000. Nokia India Head-GTM Vineet Taneja said that at present the Global Positioning system is available with the N95, N82 and N95 mobile phone handsets of Nokia. He, thereafter, added that the company has sold 60 million NSeries phones in Indian market in the first quarter of 2008.
Shedding some light on the way consumers used their mobile phones, Vineet Taneja informed that 16 per cent people used their cell phones for multimedia features, whereas eight per cent used it for browsing the internet. He also said that about 37 per cent used their mobiles for SMSing, whereas four percent used it for games. A special feature of the newly introduced Nokia N78 mobile phone is that it comprises a location tagger application that permits users to save images by date and geographical location.
