The latest addition in the Nokia E-series, the E75, is based on the older Nokia 9300, the first Nokia mini-communicator. But the E75 comes with a side-slider with full keyboard design and has a better look.

It is enabled with Nokia's new e-mail user interface that contains folder and HTML e-mail support, expandable views as well as options to sort e-mails on the basis of date, sender as well as size.

Adding and accessing Ovi Mail, Gmail, Yahoo Mail or Windows Live Mail accounts is now possible via the Nokia Messaging menu. The E75 has the potential to deliver e-mails automatically for up to 10 addresses.

If folders are used in the Web-based e-mail service, Nokia Messaging provides the user to select up to 10 folders from the E75 phone.

The Gmail and Ovi Mail can be accessed from this phone which is very swift.  Only thing that needs to be done is to provide the e-mail address and key in the password. The e-mail setup was ready in a second.

For typing, one can use the numerical keypad or slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Even though the keyboard is quite flat with hardly any space separating each key, the keys are large enough for comfortable typing.

The characters that are very often used like the question mark (?), at sign (@), apostrophe ('), quotation mark ("), comma (,) and full stop have their own key and the user does not require a two- key combination. So typing a message is faster and easier.

There are two home screens that the user can customize - one for work, the other for personal data, for example. There are dedicated one-touch keys for Home, Calendar and Email.

For a phone with both a QWERTY keyboard and keypad, it is quite slim and can easily slip into a person’s pocket. It is also solidly built, without any feeling of "plasticity".

The volume and camera buttons are present on the right side of the phone where as the microUSB connector and Micro Secure Digital High Capacity card slot are present on the phone’s left side.

Despite being considered as a business phone, multimedia features are also available in E75.

The 2.4-inch screen is large enough for viewing videos. A 3.5-millimeter connector at the top enables the user to listen to music.

Those who do not like earphones can use the phone's speakers, which are quite loud. Since they are located at the back of the phone the sound can be subdued when kept on the table.

The E75 is equipped with a 3.2-megapixel auto-focus camera with 8X digital zoom and LED flash. There is no lens cover. For accessing the camera, the user needs to just hold down the camera button.

The pictures taken are acceptable for the occasional shot or to post online. While the colours come out nicely, the pictures look a bit grainy when viewed on a monitor.

In terms of battery life, it takes almost 3 days before the E75 needed a recharge, but this comes for minimal usage, mostly for making calls.

To conclude, the E75 is a nice and slim device to carry around, even if its work or play.

So go in for Nokia E75 if you are looking for a smart-phone with a QWERT keyboard.
