Rick Simonson, who is currently the chief financial officer of the Finland-based mobile giant Nokia, will now lead the mobile phones entity of the firm, which is under the devices unit. This will be effective from the next month.
Timo Ihamuotila, currently global head of sales, will take over as the CFO. Mobile phones and smart phones are the two new entities within Nokia's devices unit that came into operation on Oct. 1. Both Simonson and Ihamuotila will continue to be members of the company's executive board.
Nokia had reported an unexpected 559 million euro ($836 million) loss for the third quarter on Thursday.
