Nokia has announced the launch of Wireless Payment Technology on its smartphone From 2011.
According to the company, the smartphone released after 2011 will come with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology for making wireless payments.
Speaking on the occasion, Anssi Vanjoki, vice president for marketing at Nokia, said that the company was positioning itself on the emerging NFC technology market.
He also said that every smartphone developed by the company would use the Single Wire Protocol (SWP) part from certain other security features like MicroSD.
NFC technology is a short-range data communication system that helps the mobile phone users to talk with cash registers and other devices for purchasing goods or receiving discount coupons through 'smart' posters.
