Nokia, in a tie up with Sony BMG, world’s second biggest music label, on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 announced a 12 month offer to access music from the artists of Sony BMG. The offer is valid for buyers of Nokia’s particular music phones. Last year in December, the top cell phone maker had unveiled a similar deal for its ‘Comes With Music’ phones with the record label Universal.

Sony BMG is currently jointly owned by Sony Corp and German media group Bertelsmann AG. The leading music label is home to some most popular international artistes, which includes Celine Dion, Beyonce and Bruce Springsteen. Nokia’s music business head, Liz Schimel revealed that Nokia expects all top labels to sign up for ‘Comes With Music’ scheme. However, these sort of unlimited download models can prove to be a major hassle for the music industry, which is already struggling to find ways to increase its sale of constantly falling demand of CDs.
